Türk Telekom International hosted the SEA-ME-WE 5 Project Launch Celebration Event on 21st February 2017 in Istanbul. The event featured noble speakers including Mehmet Toros, Chairman of the Türk Telekom International Group Management Board, Dr. Paul DOANY, Türk Telekom CEO, Dr. Ömer Fatih SAYAN, Chairman of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority and Ahmet ARSLAN, Minister of Transportation, Maritime and Communications. All of them highly valued the importance and the complexity of the SEA-ME-WE 5 Project.
The special occasion included spectacular live entertainment, a gourmet gala dinner and a very unique SEA-ME-WE 5 Project Launch Celebration when all 19 consortium members symbolically built the “SEA-ME-WE 5 underwater superhighway” on stage.
This successful inauguration ceremony officially announced the completion of the matchless 20.000-km long SEA-ME-WE 5 subsea cable route connecting among Western Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia providing the highest quality voice and data traffic with minimal transmission delay.
