TTI is proud to announce the integration of KAFOS subsea cable connecting Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey via Black Sea to its existing network. KAFOS will boost connectivity and high speed telecommunication capacity between İstanbul and Bucharest and provide critical route diversity.
ISTANBUL, Turkey — March 03, 2021 — KAFOS (the Black Sea Fiber Optic System) is an unrepeated subsea telecommunications cable system that spans through the Black Sea connecting Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey reaching 504 km in length.
As of January 2021, İstanbul-İğneada-Mangalia-Bucharest section is fully operational and allows TTI to provide 8 Tbit/s capacity between İstanbul and Bucharest. In the next phases Varna section will be added for additional capacity increases.
TTI believes KAFOS subsea cable will have a significant role in providing seamless connectivity between Turkey and Europe, further emphasizing Turkey’s role as a communication hub between East and West and is very proud to integrate the cable system in its network.
